We fist heard of Antony Crook and James Bowthorpe’s Hudson River Project last year, and were taken by the ambitious idea: “Build a boat from New York City’s waste, take it to the source of the Hudson River – the river without which the city would not exist – and row the boat back to NYC.” James Bowthorpe stopped by for a visit, so we interviewed him en route, surveying various piles and heaps of trash along the way. You’d be surprised what boat-materials can be found on the streets of Hell’s Kitchen!

The project is still in progress and you can contribute here. (Video: Aymann Ismail/ANIMALNewYork, Edit: Aymann Ismail and Yosserra Bouchtia/ANIMALNewYork)
