For those brave souls willing to trek across the foreboding frozen tundra mildly unpleasant wet sidewalks of New York City today, there’s an all-robot heavy metal show happening in Union Square this afternoon. It’s free. As is to perhaps be expected for this kind of spectacle in that kind of public location, the event is part of, sigh, an ad campaign. It’s for General Electric and it’s about “what happens when heavy metal meets big data.” Right.

Still, it’s bound to be pretty cool, even if the bot band’s music sounds more like the Ramones than Revenge. I wonder if the robots are depressed misfits like their human counterparts.
