Intern Magazine Is a Magazine by Interns

July 19, 2013 | Andy Cush

Where was all this intern solidarity back in my day? The lawsuits, the t-shirts, and now Intern magazine, a new bi-annual publication that aims to publish work by the best unpaid talent in the world and raise “a long overdue, frank debate about the current state of the intern culture.”

And it looks pretty damned professional, with design that wouldn’t be out of place in Purple or Dazed and Confused and one of the glossiest, most well-put-together Kickstarter videos I’ve ever seen. Professionals looking to get your ideas funded, take a hint from the interns:

“First and foremost, people need to be exposed to your work in order for them to notice you,” says founder Alec Dudson. “Secondly, the culture of internships across the creative industries is one that is not discussed or debated outside or even within them. Wouldn’t it be a lot more helpful if people could get an insight without throwing themselves in at the deep end?”
