Kanye’s “Gone” Cracks Billboard Charts Eight Years Later Thanks to Viral Video

Kanye West’s “Gone,” an excellent album cut from 2005’s Late Registration, is officially a hit, only eight years after came out. The track’s newfound fame is thanks to a viral video it soundtracked, in which a producer for the Taiwanese animators Next Media Animation theatrically quits her job.

Billboard recently began tracking YouTube views as part of its stats–the first success story based on this new methodology was Baauer’s “Harlem Shake” –so all of those 15 million views and counting (and the 4 million for Next Media’s response, also set to “Gone”) go towards Kanye.

Here’s the track in all its six-minute, Cam’ron featuring glory, with all inexplicably popular cries for internet attention removed. It’s a really great song.
