Homeless artist Jim Power whose mosaic tile works have adorned many of the city’s light posts for decades, has unveiled his newest work on the southwest corner of St. Mark’s Place and Avenue A. Funded by a nearby Crif Dogs, it features a message to both “Mayor Bucko” as well as “Mayor De Bozo,” in response to Astor Place reconstruction project which places many of the artist’s intricate tile works in jeopardy.

They are spending $16 million to block the neighborhood’s entrance at Astor Place while our streets and sidewalks are in dangerous disrepair.
