Sabine Lidl’s documentary Nan Goldin – I Remember Your Face premiered at the Zurich Film Festival this year and the trailer is perfect. It’s a portrait of the legendary photographer who documented her friends, drug use and drug abuse, love and domestic violence, wild times and loss, gay culture and the gays whom she kept constantly falling in love with.
Shot in Paris and Berlin, the film “chronicles her professional career and personal life behind the camera” as it is right now. See her talk about trading tips on giving hum jobs for explanations of Hegel’s Doctrine when she was fourteen and then discuss the evil she discovered through Bosch. This woman is amazing.
