From one tired soul just looking for a little beauty in this confusing world to another, here’s Robo Faber, a very cute little robot that rolls around on paper and produces randomly generated drawings. The art it produces, dubbed Mechanical Parts by creator Matthias Dörfelt, is distinctive, all super-clean lines and almost figurative images.
“I really like that it is in a way a portion of my creative thinking and practice distilled inside of robo faber, frozen in time,” says Dörfelt. “Even if I won’t like the drawings thirty years from now, robo faber will still draw and create in a way I though about things now, thirty years earlier.”
It warms my heart to watch Robo Faber in action. Watch it above.
