Williamsburg’s newest music venue/record store/emporium of cool stuff, Rough Trade, has chosen to cancel all upcoming shows due to noise complaints from neighbors. It opened two weeks ago.
The club’s proprietors hope better soundproofing will help. “We’re making sure our incredible live PA system is equalled by incredible acoustic remediation,” spokesman Stephen Godfroy told DNAinfo. “Achieving this parity is our focus right now. During this process, all amplified live performances at the store are ‘on hold,’ but we aim to resume normal service (as it were), as soon as possible.”
For those who made it to the few performances that happened before cancellation: how was it? Did you get to see Television?
