As we reported yesterday, the Bowery Wall has been buffed and now it’s street artist Swoon’s turn. She’s working in collaboration with a nonprofit group that helps inner city kids through public art.

We did four murals for the communities that have been highly affected by Sandy,” says Yana Dimitrova, a resident artist from Yana Dimitrova the Groundswell Community Mural Project to ANIMAL. “What we’re bringing here together with Swoon is actually all of those murals and she’s incorporating them in her design.” See the sneak preview in the photo above.

The artwork was done on parachute cloth which will then be affixed to the wall. The plan is to finish it by the end of the week and then hold a “dedication on Tuesday,” the one year anniversary of Sandy.
