This DIY Drone Hunts Pigs

April 23, 2013 | Marina Galperina

Somewhere in Louisiana, there’s a home-made drone whirling through the sky towards an unsuspecting pig. Engineers/farmers Cy Brown and James Palmer  call it the “Dehogiflier.” When the R/C airplane + thermal imaging camera COMBO OF DEATH spots the pig, it’s only a matter of time before a quick shot from a rifle with a night vision scope takes oinky out.

But don’t feel bad. These wild pigs are bad for the ecosystem, they have entirely too many babies too fast and are creepily intelligent. Also, they take out the babies. As Brown tells Modern Farmer magazine:

If you’ve got roaches in your house, you don’t leave the eggs behind because they’re poor innocent eggs. You kill them all.

Yes, they’re exterminating feral pigs with drones now.

Ok, now you can feel bad. But only if you’re a real vegetarian. There’s no such thing as humane slaughter.
