We’re All Pussy Riot

August 19, 2013 | Kyle Chayka

These photos were shot at the Russian Embassy in Washington, D.C. on August 16th during the second annual Pussy Riot protest and solidarity concert. To show their support against the unjust imprisonmentof Pussy Riot, the protestors wore brightly colored “balaclavas,” the emblem of Pussy Riot’s [attempted] anonymity and, ultimately, a signature image of protest.

It’s been over year since members of the Russian feminist punk rock band/protest art group were each given two-year prison sentences for 40 seconds of dancing in Russian Orthodox Church. Why? Russia. (Photos: )
