The nicer your phone is, the more likely you are to drop and damage it. It’s pretty much a fact by this point. If you’re an iPhone fan, though, you might have less problems with cracked screens in your future. Apple has filed a patent for a “Protective Mechanism for an Electronic Device” that, should you drop your iPhone, would hold a weight to have the iPhone shift to its side mid-fall. As someone pointed out, it mimics how a cat always lands on its feet. Drunk and/or clumsy people rejoice!
