Who Knew: Porn Can Be Addicting, Just Like Everything Else That Exists

February 21, 2013 | Samer Kalaf

AsapSCIENCE has created a video illustrating the process of what constant viewings of pornography can do to you, and surprise, it can have lasting effects on your brain, like literally everything else that exists that a person repeatedly does. The video explains how watching porn, like eating or other activities, triggers dopamine in the brain and makes you want to do it again after you’re, uh, done. It explains that when you repeat a certain activity, the urge to do it again grows stronger every time.

Porn addiction does exist, and it’s been documented online, but there are plenty of stable people who watch porn and don’t lose attraction to their partner or see it as gateway porn and only get attracted to progressively weirder shit as they absorb more and more videos and images, like m- my friend. Yeah, my friend.
