Will Your Cat Art Win
the First Feline Arts Grant?

August 20, 2013 | Kyle Chayka

Cats have been making more and more appearances within the art world lately — from commissioned royal cat portraits to an entire exhibition at the Brooklyn Museum and at White Columns gallery, where cats were offered for rescue, and that’s just within the past few months!

And now, the ASPCA and Fresh Step have partnered up to create a Feline Arts Grant. They will give away $5,000 to whomever submits the best artwork that represents a “paw-sitive representations of cats in mainstream culture.”

Do you have a creative project that shows how smart and quirky cats are? Submit your masterpiece by Sept. 12, 2013 and you could win funding for your project and national exposure through Fresh Step and the ASPCA. Winners will receive a $5,000 grant to develop their projects, which will be sold online to benefit the ASPCA.

Aw, but what is “paw-sitive” exactly, aesthetically/thematically/etc? Does anybody speak cat? (Image: FreshStep)
