Transgressive NY stalwart filmmaker/photographer Richard Kern directed this Is Tropical “Lovers Cave” music video. So here’s a bunch girls thrashing and rolling around, mostly naked, save for the occasional sheer undergarment, while the band is fully dressed. Richard Kern is very particular about the sheer undergarments.
It’s very Richard Kern. But soft.
It’s all very soft and harmless and NOT NEARLY as creepy as that “controversial” recent pop video with topless models hopping around fully dressed Robin Thicke, T.I. and Pharrell. Richard Kern’s girls are different. Different because there’s something in their eyes. Different because there’s anything in their eyes, really. Seriously, there is not one video in Kern’s entire repertoire — regardless of who’s getting fingered, spanked or fucked — that is that creepy.
Anyway, save the music being so damn soft, Kern’s new music video is sweet and nothing to get your panties in a bunch about, since Is Tropical’s last video was that young boy explicitly fucking CGI porn-archetypes.
