Browse 3D Facebook on Your Oculus Rift

March 27, 2014 | Andy Cush

The future is already here, folks, and it looks a lot like Dreamcast. Following Facebook’s $2 billion purchase of hot button-virtual reality company Oculus VR — makers of the Oculus Rift — developers Bronson Zgeb and Gruau Pomme Lackey created Facerift, a Mac and Windows app that lets you browse the social network on your Oculus with shiny and opulent 128-bit-style graphics. If you don’t have the requisite hardware, never fear: you canexperience the 3D magic of Facerift on an ordinary computer screen, too.

Write the creators on their website:

*SCROLL FACEBOOK…WITH YOUR FACE*

*THE DREAM OF THE 3D WEB*

*WE’RE BRINGING BACK THE POKE*

*FRIENDS ARE MORE REAL IN 3D*

*YOU’LL NEVER FACEBOOK WITHOUT YOUR FACE AGAIN*

I, for one, am never going back to 2D. Facerift forever!
