Check Out These 22 Beds In a “Luxury” Two-Bedroom Midtown East Apartment

August 29, 2014 | Marina Galperina

Once in a while, a gem pops up on NYC Reddit that makes years we’ve spent living in windowless basement shitholes and shanty dorms seem a little better, for this is an amazingly bad and pompously pitched set-up right here.

Let Joseph Morgan give you a tour of this “Luxury Midtown East” apartment and it’s twelve bunk beds in this real estate video.

The apartment appears to be recently renovated, so it would normally go for $3,000-$4,000 a month, but with 22 proposed tenants, this guy was sure trying to cut his company quite the profit margin. The YouTube description says, “This is not a place to party.”

The screenshot above is the girls room. It has five bunk beds, aka “room for 10 girls” and a bathroom. And this is the boys’ room, featuring six beds with two feet or so separating them from each other and the ceiling.

As our proud narrator entices us with this “very serious environment” of “very clean” and “mostly young professionals,” as well as “a lot of Europeans and people from South America” that reside “here,” he leads us to the crème de la crème of the luxury tenement — a twelve-person co-ed pretend third bedroom combination kitchen combination “place to eat.”

The video is from January, so if this completely illegal situation hasn’t been shut down by the authorities and you’re one of the exciting, “responsible and kind” people living here, give us a shout. I would really like to know how why wtf this, particularly since “there is no alcohol, smoking, illicit drugs or drama allowed inside any apartments.”
