Crazy Footage Of Brooklyn Bridge Protests Shows Assault On NYPD Officers (UPDATED)

December 15, 2014 | Prachi Gupta

Nearly 30,000 people gathered for the Millions March in Manhattan on Saturday. While it was generally peaceful, a few groups of rowdy protesters contributed to the NYPD reconsidering its hands-off approach. The video above shows one such group gone rogue, capturing the chaos on the Brooklyn Bridge (the Millions March ended at One Police Plaza and did not extend to the bridge).

NYPD officers can be seen wrestling with a man as another protester tugs on him in a video titled, “NYPD Lieutenants Assaulted on Brooklyn Bridge.” ANIMAL has reached out to the NYPD to determine whether the footage is of the CUNY professor who was arrested for allegedly assaulting two officers on the bridge, and will update this post if we hear back.

Updated: The Office of the Deputy Commissioner has confirmed that this is the assault involving the professor.
