Ebola Man: A Nigerian Illustrator’s Dark And Twisted Take On The Deadly Disease

October 28, 2014 | Amy K. Nelson

A Nigerian-based artist and illustrator created an eight-page “info comic” on Ebola that is next level.

Collyde Prime posted the series on his Facebook page for Awon Da comics on September 12, and also on the portfolio-sharing website Behanced.net. On his instagram account, Prime said that he created the dark humor and caricature-based comic because Ebola is “a scourge we need to come together and fight.”

Amazingly, Prime’s country did just that, in an incredible story of how Africa’s most populous country was declared Ebola-free earlier this month, in spite of having the continents largest city in Lagos that is filled with slums. Just this week, the disease surpassed 10,000 cases worldwide.
