Fixie Kid, Commuter, Park Slope Dad: Which NYC Biker Are You?

April 4, 2014 | Andy Cush

This series of illustrations from Kurt McRobert catalogs the archetypal bike riders of NYC: there’s the Messenger, the Citibike, the Fixie Kid, and a slew of others. My favorite stereotype is the Journeyman, a “middle-aged cyclist with something to prove,” in spandex that’s color-coordinated with his $5,000 race road bike — aka the guy who’s always rushing to pass you on the West Side Highway bike path. Which one are you?
