“Sexing Sound: Aural Archives and Feminist Scores” — a show of feminist sound work from the last 20 years mines some of the best troves for under-shown avant garde art — at CUNY Graduate Center’s James Gallery. Reception features performance by JD Samson. (6pm, free, Manhattan)

Two shows open at Interstate Projects tonight: Jeff Baij’s “Yautja Moms” and Melissa Sachs and Cameron Soren’s “Freelance Hellraiser (Studio Visit).” Featuring “artists in attendance, catalogs in attendance, beer in attendance, fog machines in attendance, hawaiian prints in attendance.” (6pm, free, Brooklyn)

Book launch party for “Future Perfect” at the Bureau of General Services-Queer Division with Penny Arcade, Ed Halter, and more. Andrew Durbin, Juliana Huxtable, and Justin Allen of BDGRMMR will read at 8 PM. Yulan Grant of BDGRMMR will screen her short film “Black Atlantis.” (7pm, free, Manhattan)

Slothrust celebrates the release of their new record with Big Ups opening at Shea Stadium. (8pm, $8, Brooklyn)

Industrial noise band Yvette are one of the most impressive live acts going. See them at Glasslands. (8pm, $10, Brooklyn)

“Think of Yr Future” art event at Grace Exhibition Space. Live performances from Allison Wonderland and Lines of Bleach (mem. That Rhizome e-cigarette and vaporizer symposium at the New Museum is happening. “Rhizome has commissioned a group of artists and critics to present analyses—historical, political, social, anticipatory—of this technology and the discursive field that is emerging around it.” (3pm, $10, Manhattan)

BAM’s Polish Cinema series is back. Highlight: Life Feels Good with director and star in person. “The rich and romantic inner life of a young man born with cerebral palsy—who is mistakenly presumed to be mentally disabled—is movingly conveyed in this nuanced, superbly judged tribute to human resiliency.” (6:30pm, $13, Brooklyn)

Je T’aime, Je T’aime at Film Forum has been held over through Feb. 25. “Recovering after a suicide attempt, Claude Rich is obviously the perfect guinea pig for a sedulously anonymous corporation’s tentative attempts at time travel — what could go wrong?” ($13, Manhattan)

“New York-based trend forecasting group” K-HOLE “will be releasing new ideas related to insomnia and nightlife” with “a Berlin-based club night” Janus at MoMA PS1. (4pm, $10, Queens)
