Listen In: Dub Thompson Made You A Playlist

July 8, 2014 | Sophie Weiner

Listen In“ is a weekly feature in which we ask musicians to curate a mixtape-length YouTube playlist of songs they’re currently digging. Click the big play button above to hear the whole playlist or scroll down to see and hear individual tracks.

Dub Thompson are an LA band that, with help from Foxygen’s producer Jonathan Rado, are quickly ascending to buzzy heights. Their music is hazy psychedelic mish-mash of sounds the sounds reflected here in their playlist: a little Bowie, a lot of Lou Reed and a few wackier sounds coming in from the side (there doesn’t, however, seem to be any trace of Loutallica). They’re touring now with ANIMAL favorites Ought – we’d recommend going out to catch this high energy bro down.
