Listen In: Edith Pop Made You A Playlist

November 12, 2014 | Rhett Jones
“Listen In” is a weekly feature in which we ask musicians to curate a mixtape-length YouTube playlist of songs they’re currently digging. Click the big play button above to hear the whole playlist or scroll down to see and hear individual tracks.
This weeks playlist comes to you from Brooklyn-based band Edith Pop. Edith is playing at Le Poisson Rouge on November 21 and at Trash Bar on November 26. You can find their great tunes on Bandcamp and on Soundcloud. Here’s what they have to say about the playlist:

When I find a song I like, or that captures a feeling that I have had before, I play it over and over again, at least 60 times, until it synthesizes with my brain and then I almost feel as though I wrote the song myself, with my heart.

All of the songs on this playlist are some of my favorites. If I am drinking, and we are together, and for some reason my phone has not died, you will most likely have to listen to these again.

The Pixies – Hey

The Replacements – Sixteen Blue

The Deadbeats – Kill The Hippies

Betty Wright – Shoo Rah Shoo Rah

Calico Wall – I’m a Living Sickness

The Ramones – Baby I Love You

Dead Milkmen – Bitchin’ Camaro

Ian Dury and The Blockheads – Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll

John Lennon – Instant Karma

Bruce Springsteen – I’m on Fire
