Listen To This Punk Tribute To Local News Heroes Roger Clark
and Pat Kiernan

September 12, 2014 | Marina Galperina

Here’s a “tribute to everyone’s favorite New Yorkers – Roger Clark and Pat Kiernan of NY1,” exclaimed punk band The Tracys. It’s a happy little tune about the newsmen’s on-air camaraderie — “Roger’s got the microphone/What’s he gonna do?/Pat is gonna have to see this through” — and even shouts out transit reporter Jamie Stetler (formerly “Shupak!”). NY1 just played it on the air. Pat appeared to be flattered. Roger and Pat. Roger and Pat. Roger and Pat. We love you too!

Roger and Pat

One is a Canadian
(Roger and Pat)
The other one was born in the Bronx
One will read you headlines
From the New York Post
The other one will air drum for you
Roger’s got the microphone
What’s he gonna do?
Pat is gonna have to see this through
Roger and Pat
Roger and Pat
Roger and Pat
Roger and Pat

At the Halloween parade
They dress up for you
I heard they like to wear kinky boots
One looks kinda Mormon
(Roger and Pat)
The other one looks like kind of a guy

Rogers got a microphone
What’s he gonna do?
Pat is gonna have to see this through

Roger and Pat (x4)

SHUPAK! (Stetler)

Solo

Another park is opening
What’s he gonna do?
Pat is gonna have to see him through
My god I think I love you
Roger and Pat
Even though I’m also a dude

Roger and Pat (x4)
I love you

The Tracys play Otto’s Shrunken Head in Manhattan tonight.
