New Flaming Lips Album Syncs With Dark Side of the Moon and Wizard of Oz

March 31, 2014 | Andy Cush

The Flaming Lips, fresh off of covering Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon in its entirety, have gone and done the Flaming Lipsiest thing possible: released an “immersive companion piece” to that venerated classic of bong-rock. The new record, dubbed Flaming Side of the Moon, is designed to be played simultaneously with Dark Side — ideally, “the original Alan Parsons’ engineered quadraphonic LP mix” — along with, of course, The Wizard of Oz.

Stream the whole thing below, and, if you’re feeling truly transcendent, play Dark SideOzand all four discs of Zaireeka at the same time.
