Protests Against Ferguson Decision Springing Up All Across the U.S.

November 26, 2014 | Bucky Turco

For a second day, demonstrations flared up nationwide on Tuesday as people took to the streets to protest a grand jury’s decision not to indict police officer Darren Wilson in the killing of Mike Brown. From New York to Los Angeles and Ferguson to Philadelphia, marches took place, leading to some minor clashes with police and hundreds of arrests. Even Miami showed some love.

In New York, protesters briefly blocked First and Third Avenues and the FDR Drive in both directions, brining motorists to a standstill. They also took the roadway on the Manhattan Bridge. Despite the snarling traffic, lots of motorists showed support by honking their horns, giving high-fives and chanting in solidarity (click video above). According to reports, only 10 people were arrested in the city, which is kind of amazing. Here’s how the rest of the country fared:

Atlanta: 24

Boston: 51

Cincinnati: 15

Dallas: 7

Denver: 3

Ferguson: 45

Kansas City: 5

Los Angeles: 100

Miami: 2

Oakland: 43

St. Louis: 13
