Woman Slashes Tourists With High Heel Shoe

March 28, 2014 | Andy Cush

Yes, tourists are troublesome sometimes. But when you find yourself irked, please try not to remove your Manolos, take them in your hand, and slash the out-of-towners with the spike, like Annemarie Chavez did. Especially if they’re old people.

A 60-year-old man, his 51-year old wife, and their 19-year-old son were attempting to exit a parking garage at 111 Eighth Avenue Sunday when Chavez approached them. DNAinfo explains what happened next.

Chavez appeared to be drunk and was argumentative, police said. When the 61-year-old man, his 50-year-old wife and their 19-year-old son tried to move past her, she lunged toward them with the heel of her shoe, police said.

According to the NYPD, Chavez struck the man with the heel, cutting his face and left temple, and then hit his wife with the shoe, cutting the back of her head. Both were taken to Bellevue Hospital, police said.

Perhaps Chavez was emulating Melissa Scott, who bit a boutique employee and drew blood when she was caught stealing a pair of Jimmy Choos last year.
