Last month we saw the elevator ride up to the observatory at the top of 1 World Trade Center. Now, via the New York Times, we see what the ride down looks like. Unfortunately, it’s pretty unsettling.

In the video by the Hettema Group and Blur Studio, the elevator bursts out of the side of the building and flies around the Financial District. There’s a little bit of Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator, but it feels a lot like you’re a pilot flying a plane around Lower Manhattan and eventually back into the World Trade Center. According to the Times, the designers tried really hard not to make it feel like 9/11, but they don’t seem to have been successful.
