Graffiti Threatening To Kill NYPD Found In Queens

January 7, 2015 | Prachi Gupta

Police have found disturbing graffiti in a Queens basement that says local officers will be “Next to Die.” The graffiti, found in the Pomonok House on Parsons Boulevard, reads, “PSA-9 ‘n’ 107 Pct R Next to Die.” It refers to Police Service Area 9, a unit that oversees the housing project in the 107th Precinct in Queens.

The threatening message comes at a time when police are on edge due to increased tensions with the community. On December 20, Detectives Wenjian Liu and Rafael Ramos were ambushed and killed in their patrol cars in Brooklyn. On December 24, federal authorities arrested a Mount Vernon man who threatened, via social media, to shoot police officers. On Monday night, two officers were shot by robbery suspects.

According to DNAinfo, “It was not immediately clear if the NYPD is investigating the graffiti as a threat,” but the NYPD’s “Citywide Vandals Task Force is handling the case, sources said.”
