This Is How New Yorkers Are Enjoying The Boring Snow

January 27, 2015 | Prachi Gupta

With a total ban on travel and no food delivery, New Yorker City residents had little else to do Monday night but cook, sit around, and watch a few flurries fall. The city that never sleeps was incredibly boring by night.

But a few individuals kept the city’s spirit alive, refusing to be defeated by a storm that largely brushed passed the region. They kept New York weird and wonderful on a quiet night and well into the following day, finding inventive ways to enjoy the snow like only a New Yorker could. Here are some of the adventures they shared on social media.

1. Some ignored the travel ban and skied on empty streets:

2. Others used snowboards:

3. One person busted out an ATV:

4. Dogs peed on snowmen:

5. And another rode down a slide:

6. The snow was also perfect for a game of beer pong on the street:

7. And for working out, if you’re determined:

8. But probably the wackiest of all the things was CNN’s Don Lemon, who outdid himself with a ride in a “Blizzardmobile” and proclaimed, “There’s nothing really happening on the streets of Manhattan right now.”
