image5296871g During World War II it was patriotic to grow hemp and the government even sponsored a propaganda campaign to promote the cause, but under the Controlled Substance Act of 1970 it was made illegal—even though it can’t get you high at all. But that doesn’t mean the DEA is likely to raid the Army’s Rocky Mountain Arsenal near Denver. Officials there thought they were spreading some weed killing mulch, but ended up growing a whole lot of hemp instead. Got that CBS News? Hemp. Not “marijuana.” Hemp.
