Artist Jay Shells Establishes the ‘Metropolitan Etiquette Authority’

Right on schedule, Jay Shells unveiled all the signs in his latest etiquette project that we briefly mentioned a few weeks ago and started placing them around Manhattan. In addition to the much needed “Pay Attention While Walking” sign he had a few others addressing some of the pet peeves bound to eat away at New Yorkers.

We’re especially fond of the “Pull Up Your Pants,” which is now reaching epidemic proportions with the advent of skinny jeans and the “Clean Up After Your Horse,” a direct challenge to the NYPD and their habit of not policing their own poop. There’s also one going after the nasty habits of smokers when it comes to discarding their butts and although we hate that as much as the next person, think there’s already enough signs against them.
