Above, watch Beat Rockers: Keeping The Beat Alive, a short documentary about a beatboxing class at the Bronx’s Lavelle School for the Blind. It’s a totally joyful affair, and the kids kick out some serious jams.

Says Taylor McFerrin, the class’s lead instructor: “Seeing how music can kind of create a space where everyone’s comfortable — it’s something that in some ways I already knew, but it’s really been reinforced in this class in a way that I wasn’t expecting.”
