Boogie Goes Color: ‘The Uncovering’ of New Photography

07.12.10 Marina Galperina

From Yugoslavia’s civil war to NYC ghetto life and ’round the world, Boogie penetrates reality like few can. New color works and his signature stark, gritty, black and white photography are currently on view at Culver City’s Carmichael Gallery.

With the birth of his son, the Belgrade-born, Brooklyn-based photographer returned to Serbia. “The Uncovering” of vandalized property, public housing and storms marks endings and new beginnings, echoing the photographer’s own. Preview new work below.

Concurrently on display: Polish industrial street futurist/stencil artist M-City‘s outdoor mural, site-specific installation and new canvases.
