‘Dirty Old Town’ Trailer: Billy Plays Billy

NYC “gonzo narrative” film Dirty Old Town was shot in and around the very recognizable Billy’s Antiques on Houston. The owner William LeRoy plays some sort of fictionalized version of himself struggling to pay rent as a series of down-on-luck archetypes of Downtown New York pop in with issues of their own, including old school paparazzo and cultural deviant Ronnie Sunshine who shares his problems:

I can’t even get laid with a fist full of bananas in a monkey whorehouse.

Dirty Old Town is written and directed by Jenner Furst and Daniel Levin, who were previously involved with (in Levin’s case, directed) a documentary film about legendary LES-based photographer/videographer Clayton Patterson. Patterson is listed as a consulting producer for ‘Dirty Old Town.’ That should be an interesting influence.
