After launching its jerky bike PSAs, NYC’s Department of Traffic is now taking aim at the real threat to the public: motor vehicles. Despite a certain tabloid’s bold attempts to make bikes into fearful pedestrian killers, the statistics don’t lie and it’s still drivers that are the most dangerous. So as part of its ongoing “That’s Why It’s 30 (mph)” campaign, the city is programming electronic road signs to flash the image of a skeleton and the words “SLOW DOWN.”
