Facebook Isn’t, Like, Cool Anymore

According to comprehensive research conducted in eight EU countries, 16-18 year olds are leaving Facebook. The mass exodus to Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat and WhatsApp (WhatsEverTheFuckThatIs) isn’t so much caused by the surveillance of corporations and the NSA. Professor of material culture of University College London Daniel Miller shares some totally important research about lame parents being very lame:

Facebook is not just on the slide – it is basically dead and buried. Mostly they feel embarrassed to even be associated with it. Where once parents worried about their children joining Facebook, the children now say it is their family that insists they stay there to post about their lives… It is nothing new that young people care about style and status in relation to their peers, and Facebook is simply not cool anymore.

*Is that how teenagers talk? I’m in my mid-twenties. Advise.
