Hey, Have Some Free WiFi For a Month, Says Wall Street Journal

On the Scale of Free Things, free WiFi is pretty high up there, slightly below free food, maybe above free booze, mostly because free WiFi can help you find other free things. And come September, most of Manhattan (and San Francisco) will be blanketed in WiFi for one month, thanks to the Wall Street Journal, the Observer reports.

The WiFi is a marketing stunt by the Journal in the hopes that it would boost subscriptions–subscribers would merely have to log into their WSJ accounts to hop online, while nonsubscribers would have to register.

Hey, world? Free internet is a good thing. Maybe someone else can pick up the tab once the Journal is done with it in October? Just a thought.
