Jay Shells’ ‘Etiquette’ Project In Action

09.15.11 Bucky Turco

This week we shadowed artist Jay Shells as he hit the streets of Manhattan to install his latest good behavior promoting project and was surprised at how nonchalantly he went about his business.

Donning an orange construction style vest, he would gingerly walk up to a sign post, unfurl his step stool and less than two minutes later, be ready for the next target. We shot a short video of his endeavors, which like his previous campaign, continues to garner lots of press, despite it being totally illegal.
