Meet the Artist Behind Brooklyn’s Mosaic House

12.19.12 Andy Cush

For the most recent installment of its New Yorkers web series, Moonshot Productions profiled Brooklyn artist Susan Gardner, creator and inhabitant of Boerum Hill’s famous mosaic house. Garnder has been living in the house for over forty years and started working on it shortly after 9/11. “I had no idea what I was doing when I started,” she says. “So I just began letting the mosaics do the talking. It took on a narrative of its own.” If you’d like to visit–and it does seem like Gardner enjoys the company–the house is at 108 Wyckoff Street.
