New Second Avenue Subway Construction Photos

Progress seems to be going along nicely on the long-running Second Avenue subway project, which received its first shipment of rails in September. The MTA released a new batch of pretty jaw-dropping photos from the new line’s construction, showing the cavernous areas that will eventually become the 86th and 96th Street stops. The first leg of the line, running from 96th Street down to 63rd, is slated for completion December 2016. See the photos in the gallery.
