Barnes & Noble's Purposely Vandalized COPE2 Truck
In the graffiti-marketing disconnect of the century, legendary name writing vandal COPE2 was hired to bomb this truck that reads "How do you remove a stubborn stain?" to promote Quamut.com, Barnes & Noble's new how-to website. The "graffiti splashed" truck, also adorned with a phone number, will drive around the city for the next two months hoping to encourage New Yorkers to text in their responses for a chance to win $5,000—assuming residents can even discern this from other vandalized vehicles driving around. Ever since graffiti hating politician Peter Vallone called COPE2 a "punk" for legally painting a billboard for Time magazine back in 2006, the notorious, former-bomber has enjoyed a lucrative stream of commercial work, most recently creating a pair of signature sneakers for adidas and having his "art" featured on the walls of Liberty City for the latest release of Grand Theft Auto. Jump for the time lapse video of legal graffiti in action.
