Buygone Ad of the Week: Green Spot Dicknic
Once a week, Copyranter brings you retro advertising good/badness. Green Spot non-carbonated orange soft drink was popular in the US back in the 1950s-60s. Back when good girls didn't have sex until they were married and didn't perform oral sex ever. So I guess we can forgive them for this all-beef frank phallic overload. Seriously, take a good look at the ad. The foreground woman has one dick in her hands while being force-fed another. Background babe is showing Chip how much of his cock she can fit in her maw at once. I don't know about the sexual orientation of the fifth wheel dude, but he's making damn sure we notice the bananas. Then, there's the extra dogs, the knives, the shirt stripes—even the pattern on the basket looks like erect penises. It's a dicknic!

This ad makes me feel like an anthropologist observing a completely alien culture. If only someone from 1961 were still alive to tell us what they were thinking.
