Michael Tyler's Take On Cash Flaunting Cragislister

DSC_0272.jpgAn anomaly in Hollywood, musician and contemplative actor James Tyler (Gunther on Friends) reacts to Gawker's recent Shutter Shades Producer "These Photos Are Mines" post that generated almost as many vitriolic comments as the Emily article and brings us the Quote of the Day:

"It's continually astounding how deep and wide the cultural divide can seem at a distance. It is equally affirming to recognize that the chasm may be breached by a few well placed words of wisdom."
Now we understand why Tyler has been offered an artist in residence fellowship at a prominent university in the UK.

While the guy is kind of amusing, and its true that you shouldn't put yourself out in ridiculous pictures if you don't want public attention, the guys at Gawker are mostly assholes, in the same not-funny way Vice stopped being "edgy" a long time ago.

There was a great bit on the too short lived show Mission Hill where the main characters start up a club in an electrical closet and then refuse to let anyone in it out of sheer spite of celebrity culture and the ridiculous scenesters and gossips that Gawker represents. When they finally get bored of the gag and close it down, all the people outside, whom had never been in it, mourned its loss, and waxed eloquent about its place in history as the "Kurt Cobain of our generation".
