Ron English's Six-Story Ad for Ray-Ban

500_LEDE_ronenglish_ad_copy.jpg When iconic presidential combiner Ron English is involved with outdoor advertising it's usually illegal, but yesterday the culture jamming "Opificer" unveiled this very lawful, massive adverart on the northeast corner of West 31st Street and 6th Avenue. Framed with Ray-Ban branding, it's part of the sunglass seller's "Project Colorize" marketing gimmick concept. The six-story, building wrapped banner, was accompanied with some sort of repeating, fake-flash mob routine, with street teams converging onto 6th avenue, staring at the ad, decked out in shades, all frozen-like. And while Ron English, has no problem interspersing commercial legal work with his imagery, he did note that he's back on the other side of the fence, readying a billboard assault on the not as great city of Boston today. Click below for photos of impostor mobs and a video we shot while the Post was interviewing the Popagandist.
