The WHOLE Day? Ladybugs? Really?
The fake testimonial is a tried and true advertising lie. Here, Long Island grocery store chain Waldbaum's, in an ad selling their online shopping service to time-strapped commuter Moms and Dads, shamelessly employs a precious little model girl to tell this fake and ridiculously unbelievable story. The whole FUCKING day looking for ladybugs? Did you count them with Daddy? Did you name them all? Did you squish any of them? Did you eat any of them? Was Daddy drinking from a flask or putting pills in his mouth or smoking funny-looking cigarettes that smelled like Mommy's sage?

Okay, I could believe "the whole morning." Maybe. Depending on how late Daddy likes to sleep. You know, because of his, um, headaches.

Wait, so if Daddy has the whole day to look for ladybugs in Central Park, how does he not have time to go to the grocery store?

Daddy is a loafer and doesn't have a job. When the kid was born it still didn't stop daddy from laying around and playing video games. Mommy had to go to work to support them. And, now she gets a nice slap in the face on her way home from work. House husbands in the park all day using a cute little girl as bate to pick up on stay at home moms.
I am so fucking bitter.

Obviously they get their groceries delivered because her single mother works until 11pm every night, and her father is in fact, imaginary.

Get real - there are no ladybugs in central park. The fact that they had to look all day to find one should have tipped them off to that grim reality.

Is that what he calls them, sweetie? And those ladybugs, did they wear really short skirts and net stockings? And lots of cheap make-up?
I thought as much.

Maybe she was being sarcastic, like, "Thanks for ruining my Saturday, Waldbaums! I could have stayed home and watched cartoons while Daddy was at the store but nooooo..."
But - would it really take all day to go grocery shopping, anyway? Seriously, what... an hour, tops? It's grocery shopping, not prospecting, man!
She may not have found any ladybugs, but I'll bet she founds some chiggers, lying in the grass like that.
