Area pit bulls aren't the urban lap dogs of Satan after all, it's the city's serpents that are most dangerous: "A rattlesnake in the grass ruined a dog's walk in the park. Miguel Mota said he was walking his pit bull, Stone, in Bronx Park East Tuesday afternoon when the serpent struck." This is a strange rarity according to a Bronx Zoo official: "There haven't been rattlers in this area in about 100 years," said Jennifer Pramuk, curator of herpetology at the nearby Bronx Zoo." |NYDN|
