REAL LIFE X-FILES
Plum Island Slightly Alters Official Line On Montauk Monster
Image: NYMag
Despite numerous theories about the Montauk Monster and an inability to properly identify it—even with newly published photos—many are convinced that it's most likely some sort of creature from the clandestine animal experiment lab located on lovely Plum Island just off the coast of Orient Point. However, in an official statement to Associated Content, the Department of Homeland Security run facility emphatically denied it was theirs and even speculated that it's most likely a "cat or raccoon" based on viewing the canine teeth from the widely dispersed photo. So today we reached out and they sent another explanation, that eliminated the feline theory, claiming it could actually be a "dog or raccoon." They also maintain that "it's impossible to accurately identify the species of animal from the photo. There is no scale from which to judge its size." Are they not looking at the same photo we are? The above image clearly shows a fly—probably from the depths of Hell—feasting on the animal, providing some indicator of scale. You would think hope that an agency responsible for protecting livestock and specifically engaged in highly contagious animal experimentation would have all the information at hand. Then again, it is ran by Homeland Security. Official unaltered statement after the jump. UPDATE: new 'Monster' found in Connecticut within relative earshot of Plum Island.
"It is impossible to accurately identify the species of animal from the photo. There is no scale from which to judge its size. Additionally, when a body has had prolonged exposure to water and predators, it can be altered or appear different from its normal form. If we had the actual body, we could tell you what it is; however, from viewing the lower canine tooth and other physical characteristics evident in the picture, we could guess it may be a dog or raccoon. I can state categorically that it is not associated with the work performed at Plum Island Animal Disease Center (PIADC). PIADC serves as the Nation's first line of defense against foreign animal diseases of livestock by identifying such diseases through diagnostic testing and by developing vaccines to protect livestock from those diseases."-Dr. Larry Barrett, Center Director, Plum Island Animal Disease Center

That's a SKINNED small dog. I've worked in a museum of mammals and that's what that is. Not a monster. Just somebody's a sick mother, that's for sure. When they skinned the dog...this is gross, sorry...they pulled the end of the nose off...Overall a very horrible job, and pretty sickening. But it's not from freakin outerspace.

Yeah except canine skulls don't have beaks...they would have had to sharpen the end, too.

I'm not saying it's not a hoax, because it might be, but this skull has a beaky protuberance.

To me, it looks like a Turtle/Tortoise without its shell.

I gave this "monster" a serious look with some scientific merit.I looked a features/bone structure, body/limb construction, postmortem levity etc. I've NEVER bought into any of the "out there" explainations. It is not a Grpyhon, a chupacabra or a government experiment gone wrong. A canine seemed to be the best fit. The cloth or leather strap was very unusual. How would a wild animal come to have this? My very first thought was a dog that was tied up and thrown into the ocean to drown. Water current and decomposition left only this small piece, making this monster a product of human cruelty. Not much of a suprise there. Then I noticed something new, the position of the front feet, paws, whatever. This "monster" is flipping off the world, a clever hoax but a hoax. Someone is enjoying all the attention their monster has attracted and it is nothing more than a doctored photo or a latex prop. It took over 80 years before the surgeons photo the Loch Ness monster was proven to be a fake. How long will the Montauk Monster last? Are there creatures in this world that have not yet been identified? Yes, is this one of them? NO...

I HAVING SEEN A PROGRAM ABOUT GENETICALY REVERSE ENGEENERING A CHICKEN EMBRIO ON THE DISCOVERY CHANELL I BELIEVE IT WAS. IT MADE ME REALLY LOOK AT IT AND IF YOU LOOK THE HIND QAURTER LOOKS SOMEWHAT LIKE A CHICKENS. THEY HAD EVEN GONE AS FAR AS TO INSERT DNA INTO THE CHICKEN EMBRIO TO BRING UP DORMANT TEETH AND THEY HAD SUCCEDED. THEY WERE TRYING I THINK TO ENGEENIER A RAPTOR. IF YOU LOOK AT THE LONG CLAW ON THE ONE FOOT YOU CAN SEE IT ALMOST LOOKS LIKE A RAPTOR CLAW. IN FACT THE WHOLE BODY REMINDS ME OF A DINASAUR OR COULD IT POSSIBLY BE THE EVER ELUSIVE CHUPACABRA? IT LOOKS LIKE NO KNOWN ANIMAL LIVING TODAY TO ME. SO MAYBE THEY HAVE REALY STUMBLED UPON SOMETHING HERE.

What happened to the monster? There was a real estate agent on O'reilly who said he had it, gave to a friend and it disappeared. Who wpuld have reason to steal it? Plum Island? People have stayed clear of this place for years.

It does sort of look like a beak from this view, but look here...

It doesn't look like a beak now. And notice the ears? What other animal on earth has ears quite like a dog? It sort of looks like a skinned bulldog to me.
But at the same time, its feet look... funky. I don't know. It's weird.

This is nothing more than a canine carcass, patially skinned. Moderate bloating. The snout has either been removed or torn off by brutal tide and surf activity along with the flesh around the mouth, exposing the teeth in a way not normally percieved by people. To most, the feet may look odd, but few people ever see a canine without hair... that's why it looks so odd to many people. With the digits and claws combined, the length and shape of the feet still look surprisingy.. like a dog.
It also appears to me like it has been placed in this position as well or at least moved for the photos. I see little or no evidence of what normal surf activity would produce around the carcass.
This is all assuming no doctoring of the photos has been done, which is also, very highly likely.

knowing that German scientist Sidney Gottlieb and CIA have ties to Plum Island it could be anything. If You think of it We sure don,t know how far cloning experiments have been carried out and possibilities of cloning mixed species I don,t rule out anything any more

I noticed the middle finger looking thing also. My first thought since I don,t trust George Bush, german scientists and CIA was this was A George Bush/ canine clone. remember the photos of Bush flipping off public

I think the person that did this to this dog, needs to have the exact treatment done to them!!
