NYPD’s Criminal Database Will Now Only Contain Criminals

Governor Paterson signed a bill on Friday that prevents the NYPD from maintaining their extensive database on those who were stopped and frisked, but not charged. Police Commissioner Ray Kelly is opposed to the measure and is, of course, predicting a doomsday scenario: “Without it, there will be, inevitably, killers and other criminals who won’t be captured as quickly or perhaps ever.”
