Public E-Cigarette Smoking to Be Banned in NYC

During the final legislative session of the year, City Council voted overwhelmingly to include e-cigarettes in the city’s ban on public smoking, outlawing their use in bars, parks, subway platforms and the like. Mayor Bloomberg hasn’t signed the bill yet, but he almost certainly will. The law would go into effect four months from now.

Also included in the session was a tentative version of the long-talked-about ban on styrofoam food containers. Ban everything!
